via TB, just came across these photos taken on the ground by a combat photographer with russian troops in georgia; they are some of the most beautiful, awful, revolting, honest, and important documents of the human condition i've ever seen. these are war pictures, and some of them get pretty visceral - so by no means recommended for the faint of heart - but if you can handle it, it's worth seeing.
