weirdest thing. the fluorescent light right above my desk just went out, and as it did, it flickered and hissed. the flickering i would expect, but the hissing was a surprise - it sounded like all the air leaving a tire. You'd think, with all the fluorescent lights around, I'd have heard one do that before, but no, never. and it makes me wonder what kinds of noble gases I'm breathing at the moment.
